Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-acuity care to neuro patients including those with CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, and brain tumors
Titrate critical drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Interpret EKGs and monitor telemetry to quickly identify and respond to cardiac changes
Collaborate with a dedicated charge nurse and robust support team including nurse aides, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy
Maintain sterile technique during Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
Deliver bedside report and coordinate seamless handoffs in a fast-paced, high-turnover unit

Qualifications

Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience
Level 1 trauma experience required
Neuro experience highly preferred
Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam with up to 2 attempts
Must successfully complete SIMs Lab skills assessment on day one of orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Strong EKG interpretation and telemetry monitoring
Proficient with Cerner EMR and WOW documentation
Competent in titrating Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin drips
Comfortable caring for trached patients and managing complex neuro diagnoses
Excellent sterile technique and infection prevention practices
