Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient
Location: Bakersfield, California
Start Date: 06-03-2026
End Date: 09-02-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts, one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional physical therapy care to 12+ patients daily across medical-surgical, ICU, and ER units
- Develop personalized treatment plans for diverse patient populations including post-surgical, neurological, and general medical cases
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and recovery journeys
- Provide expert rehabilitation services to help patients regain strength, mobility, and independence
- Document patient progress and adjust care plans to meet individual recovery goals
Qualifications
- Active California Physical Therapist license required
- Current BLS certification
- Acute Inpatient PT experience strongly preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in treating general medical, deconditioned, and post-surgical patients
- Experience with TKA, THA, spinal surgery, and general orthopedic cases
- Knowledge of CVA rehabilitation protocols
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced acute care environments
- Strong communication and patient education abilities
