OB/GYN Hospitalist

Location: Santa Cruz, California

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 24-hour in-house hospital call, 7:30 AM - 7:30 AM, 6-8 calls per month

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive inpatient OB/GYN hospitalist coverage
Manage labor and delivery for 60-65 patients monthly
Perform vaginal deliveries and assist with C-sections
Monitor patients on Pitocin and other labor-inducing medications
Respond to urgent GYN cases during call shifts
Collaborate with ultrasonographers and 24/7 anesthesia team
Support low-risk patient populations with access to Level III NICU

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN
Active California medical license
ACGME accredited residency completion
DEA, BLS, and ACLS certifications
Recent laborist experience preferred
Clean malpractice history

Education

ACGME Accredited OB/GYN Residency

Knowledge & Skills

OB/GYN inpatient hospital call expertise
Vaginal delivery and C-section assistance
Pitocin monitoring and labor management
Cerner EMR proficiency
Bilingual skills strongly valued
Strong collaboration with perinatology and neonatology teams
