Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, age-appropriate post-anesthesia care for pediatric patients in the PACU
Monitor vital signs and recovery parameters, recognizing and responding to changes quickly
Administer medications and pain management interventions safely and accurately
Communicate clearly with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and families about patient status
Perform accurate documentation to ensure continuity of care and compliance with protocols
Participate in orientation and training to maintain high standards and mentor new staff

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Missouri licensure highly preferred or eligibility to obtain)
Experience or strong interest in PACU and pediatric nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Demonstrated ability to assess and manage post-anesthesia pediatric patients
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of post-anesthesia recovery processes and pediatric-specific considerations
Skillful in patient monitoring, airway assessment, and pain management
Ability to perform safe medication administration and IV management
Strong documentation practices and familiarity with electronic health records
Effective family-centered communication and patient education skills
