Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative and peri-procedural nursing care for orthopedic and trauma surgical patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and deliver evidence-based medical-surgical interventions
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to ensure safe, efficient surgical flow
• Maintain meticulous clinical documentation and complete required skills checklists
• Adhere to sterile technique and infection control practices to protect patients and staff
• Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and continuity of care
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license with Nursys verification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in orthopedic/trauma surgical or similar-size setting (explicit requirement)
• Strong orthopedic and trauma surgical nursing skills; solid med-surg background
• Current certification cards or credentials as applicable; be ready to upload certification
• Complete profile with work history/resume (no gaps greater than 60 days), skills checklist, references, and badge-appropriate picture

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of orthopedic and trauma surgical care and interventions
• Proficiency in medical-surgical nursing principles and perioperative processes
• Skilled in patient assessment, wound care, and post-operative monitoring
• Comfortable following sterile technique and supporting surgical teams
• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking under pressure
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation and credentialing workflows
