Roles & Responsibilities

• Complete initial nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for maternal and newborn patients
• Triage patients based on presenting symptoms and provide appropriate care
• Administer medications accurately and manage labor induction and cervical ripening
• Handle medical emergencies including prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, and more
• Perform and interpret fetal heart monitoring to ensure baby's well-being
• Manage pregnancy-related conditions such as hypertension and diabetes
• Assess newborn condition and perform neonatal resuscitation as needed
• Monitor newborns for hypoglycemia, hypothermia, jaundice, and intervene promptly
• Educate patients on newborn care and involve them in the care process
• Communicate effectively with the care team and alert providers to status changes

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's preferred
• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse license
• AHA BLS certification within 1 month of hire
• NRP certification within 6 months of hire
• ALSO certification within 1 year of hire
• STABLE certification within 1 year of hire
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification within 1 year of hire
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail

Education

• Two-year degree in nursing required
• Four-year degree in nursing preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Intermediate computer proficiency
• Comprehensive nursing skills and equipment knowledge
• Thorough understanding of triage
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving abilities
• Self-starter with a collaborative mindset
