Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 7 on/7 off Thursday-Wednesday, 7:00 AM - 6:30 PM (flexibility may change to 1:00 PM - 12:30 AM)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform microbiology testing including plate reading and culture interpretation
Operate advanced laboratory equipment such as Thermo Fisher QuantStudio 5, KingFisher, and Applied Biosystems
Conduct manual pipetting and open platform PCR techniques
Ensure accurate and timely results for patient care
Collaborate with the lab team and float between Bryan and College Station campuses as needed

Qualifications

Certified as MT or MLT by AMT or ASCP (BLS not required)
Minimum 2 years of microbiology experience, specifically in plate reading
Proficiency in MEDITECH charting system
Comfortable floating between two campuses and adapting to shift changes

Knowledge & Skills

Microbiology and plate reading technique
Molecular diagnostics and PCR methods
Manual pipetting and automated liquid handling
Laboratory information systems (MEDITECH)
Attention to detail and quality assurance
