Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona

Start Date: 08-09-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour Day Shift (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM), but must be flexible. Typically 7 days on, 7 days off, with rotating shift coverage as needed.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a dynamic 24-bed ED environment
Rotate through Main ED, Fast Track, and Observation Unit to ensure comprehensive patient care
Perform triage, quick registration, and COVID screening as needed
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to manage patient volume and acuity
Float to other departments as qualified to support hospital needs
Participate in COVID testing and immunization clinics as required

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience
Active and unrestricted RN license in Arizona
Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS (or ENPC), and TNCC certifications
Willingness to obtain conscious sedation certification after offer
Ability to adapt to changing patient volumes and unit needs

Knowledge & Skills

Emergency nursing skills including triage, trauma assessment, and critical care
Proficiency in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Flexibility to rotate through various ED zones and take on multiple roles
Competency in electronic medical records (EMR)
