Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Variable shifts (days/nights), scheduled 36 hours per week following first full week of orientation; various shift lengths and days including weekends; no guarantee of specific shift preference

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality medical/surgical nursing care to patients aged 18 and over
Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and coordinate with the healthcare team
Utilize Meditech EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing system for accurate documentation
Manage wound vacs, chest tubes, and other specialized equipment with confidence
Float to surgical peds or transitional care units as needed to support patient care
Promote a safe and healing environment through excellent clinical judgment

Qualifications

At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg or higher-level care experience
Active Hawaii RN license (or must obtain upon acceptance of offer)
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
Willingness to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
Strong commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in Meditech EMR and Pyxis
Skilled in wound vac management and chest tube care
Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles
Ability to float across units and adapt quickly
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
