Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias to keep patients safe
• Provide high-quality MS/Telemetry nursing care including IV therapy and central line management
• Manage respiratory needs including tracheostomy care, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP support and ABG interpretation
• Respond quickly as part of Rapid Response/Code teams during emergencies
• Administer and manage post-cardiac cath and post-MI care, including heparin and PCA protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, lab, radiology, social work) to coordinate care
• Document accurately and efficiently in Epic to support continuity of care
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, procedures, and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license appropriate for practice (pending licenses not accepted)
• BLS, ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
• 2 years MS/Telemetry experience preferred (first-time travelers accepted)
• Comfortable working night shifts and every-other-weekend coverage
• Familiarity with Epic charting strongly preferred
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
• Flu vaccine required per facility guideline (medical/religious exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring, including pacemaker and post-cath care
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• IV therapy, PICC/central line care, blood product administration
• Tracheostomy care and non-invasive airway support
• Interpretation of ABGs and management of high-flow oxygen therapies
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code team protocols
• Comfort in short-term acute care and high-acuity settings (trauma center/teaching hospital)
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record
