Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to assigned MST patients during overnight shifts
• Assess and monitor patient condition, recognizing changes and intervening appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately in the patient chart
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care and transitions
• Maintain clear, timely communication with patients, families, and providers
• Respond effectively to urgent situations and support smooth handoffs at shift change
• Contribute to a culture of safety by following infection control and facility policies

Qualifications

• Current, valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications (ACLS/PALS) encouraged where applicable
• Experience working in MST or similar clinical settings is preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently overnight
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and timely documentation
• Professional, patient-focused attitude and excellent communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — ADN required, BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with MST clinical protocols and nursing workflows
• Proficient in medication administration and patient monitoring
• Ability to triage, prioritize, and escalate care when needed
• Skilled at clear documentation and interdisciplinary communication
• Knowledge of infection prevention, safety practices, and basic quality improvement concepts
