Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Tele

Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients on a specialized Visual Monitor Unit
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with psychiatrists and the care team to support patients with both medical and behavioral health needs
- Maintain a safe environment using video monitoring and behavioral health protocols
- Administer medications and perform procedures while upholding strict sterile technique
- Float to support ED psych holds or other MedSurg floors as needed
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum one year of Level 1 trauma experience in a 600+ bed facility
- Strong MedSurg/Telemetry skills with Cerner EMR experience
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed)
- Must successfully complete SIMs Lab skills assessment on day one of orientation
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
- Cerner electronic medical record documentation
- Behavioral health awareness and de-escalation techniques
- Sterile field maintenance for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
- Patient safety protocols including video monitoring and restraints
