Registered Nurse - Palliative Care
Location: Carmichael, California
Start Date: 07-07-2026
End Date: 10-06-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, up to every other weekend
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $71 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead meaningful goals-of-care conversations that truly make a difference
- Assess patient needs and develop personalized daily care plans
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, advance directives, and POLSTs
- Facilitate supportive family meetings during critical moments
- Provide compassionate end-of-life discussions and emotional support
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team during daily rounds
Qualifications
- Active California RN license
- BLS certification required
- ELNEC certification preferred
- 2-5 years of recent palliative or hospice experience
- Acute care experience in ICU or oncology is a plus
- Strong clinical thinking and communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Cerner EMR proficiency
- Palliative care screening and consultation expertise
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Compassionate approach to serving patients and families
- Flexibility to work across multiple hospital units
