Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 8-hour shifts with variable start times, Monday-Sunday schedule set by manager, one weekend of call per month, one call night per week with 30-minute response time

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms and ensure all equipment is sterile and ready for procedures
Assist surgeons during a variety of cases including ortho, general, gyn, peds, and eyes
Maintain sterile field and handle instruments with precision throughout each surgery
Collaborate with the OR team to deliver exceptional patient care in a 7-suite department
Support high-volume case loads of 15-20 procedures daily with professionalism and focus

Qualifications

2 years of OR experience required
BLS certification required
Travel experience preferred
Cerner Surginet experience preferred
IAHCSMM certification preferred for sterile processing duties

Knowledge & Skills

Strong sterile technique and instrument handling
Comfortable with ortho total joints, general, gyn, peds, and eye procedures
Familiarity with autoclave equipment including Steris and V-pro
Ability to work variable 8-hour shifts and take scheduled call
Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced OR environment
