Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg pediatric unit
Assess patient condition, monitor progress, and report changes to the care team
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and family members to support recovery
Document patient care and clinical observations in the electronic health record
Support discharge planning and patient/family education so transitions are smooth
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or eligibility for licensure
Experience in Med/Surg nursing; pediatric experience is a strong plus
BLS certification required; PALS/advanced pediatric certifications a plus
Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Ability to complete required orientation and competency validations

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Diploma); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong pediatric assessment and Med/Surg nursing skills
Medication administration and IV therapy competency
Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and colleagues
Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate documentation
Time management, prioritization, and teamwork to handle variable acuity
