Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on Med/Surg units with pediatric populations
Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient status, escalating changes promptly
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement care plans
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient record
Support orientation activities and mentor new team members as needed

Qualifications

Current, active RN license in California or eligibility to obtain one
Experience working in Med/Surg and pediatric nursing settings preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; PALS or pediatric certifications preferred
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and pediatric care
Proficiency in patient assessment, medication administration, and bedside procedures
Comfort with family-centered care and pediatric patient communication
Good documentation practices and attention to detail
Strong teamwork, time management, and prioritization skills
