Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, rotating day and night; specific start/end times and assigned days to be confirmed with the facility (typical options include 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor patients on the Med/Surg unit to ensure safe, high-quality care
Administer medications and treatments accurately while following protocols
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered plans
Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic health record
Provide patient and family education to support recovery and discharge planning
Identify changes in patient condition and escalate concerns promptly

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license for Louisiana or compact license as applicable
Experience in Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing (experience preferred)
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including rotating days and nights
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; advanced certifications encouraged
Strong clinical assessment skills and effective communication with patients and team

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid Med/Surg clinical knowledge and safe medication administration
Proficiency with patient monitoring and documentation in an EHR
IV therapy and wound care skills applicable to Med/Surg patients
Effective prioritization, critical thinking, and teamwork
Patient education and discharge planning skills
