Roles & Responsibilities

• Treat patients as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, delivering compassionate, expert care
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in accordance with PT Board requirements
• Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and well-organized treatment area and equipment
• Support patient care and rehabilitation conferences by communicating progress and plans
• Provide caregiver and family instruction to prepare patients for discharge and ongoing home programs
• Train and mentor restorative aides and assist nursing staff with rehabilitation activities
• Report equipment issues promptly to ensure ongoing safety and usability
• Participate in in-service trainings to maintain and share best practices across the team

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of California, license must be maintained in good standing
• Proficiency with clinical documentation systems such as Casamba and PointClickCare
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, families and interdisciplinary team members
• Experience delivering patient treatments per physician and therapist plans
• Ability to instruct caregivers and nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training
• Willingness to participate in continuing education as required by state practice standards

Education

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (state licensure required)
• Continuing education as required by state board
