Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on clinical support to nursing staff, including guidance on complex patient care and medication administration
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate orientation, ongoing education, and professional development activities
• Serve as a clinical practice resource and mentor to staff and students to build clinical competency
• Act as a liaison between bedside staff and leadership, communicating concerns and feedback clearly
• Analyze patient data to identify clinical practice gaps and design targeted interventions
• Facilitate implementation of new clinical practices, protocols, and equipment with staff training
• Perform quality control audits and report concerns related to accuracy, quality of care, and regulatory standards
• Advocate for patients and families while promoting evidence-based practice and organizational standards

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Alaska
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association
• Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC and High Risk Competency - SEARHC
• Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in acute care settings preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Education

• Nursing degree required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Sound knowledge of clinical practice standards and safe medication administration
• Ability to conduct comprehensive patient assessments and assist with specialized procedures
• Familiarity with evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives
• Experience teaching and mentoring across varied adult learning styles
• Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making in high-stress situations
• Effective interdisciplinary collaboration and patient advocacy
