Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for Med/Surg patients
Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
Monitor patient progress and communicate changes promptly to the care team
Document care clearly and timely in the patient record
Support patient and family education to promote recovery and safe discharge

Qualifications

Current, active RN licensure for Louisiana
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and other certifications a plus
Clinical experience or training in medical-surgical nursing
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Ability to work 12-hour shift patterns and collaborate as part of a team

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; diploma holders with appropriate licensure considered

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of Med/Surg patient care principles and best practices
Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care
Proficient in patient assessment, documentation, and clinical decision making
Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment and prioritizing care
Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal and patient advocacy skills
