Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts; specific start/end times and scheduled days to be confirmed by the facility (America/Chicago timezone)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on the medical-surgical unit
Perform thorough assessments and develop timely, accurate care plans
Administer medications and therapies safely, following protocols and best practices
Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless transitions of care
Monitor patients’ conditions and respond quickly to changes, escalating concerns as needed
Document care clearly and promptly in the patient record to support continuity and compliance
Provide education and emotional support to patients and families to promote recovery

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — eligible to practice in Louisiana
Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing (demonstrated competence with med/surg patient populations)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and common condition management
Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy basics
Familiarity with inpatient charting/EHR documentation
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
Infection control practices and patient safety focus
