Roles & Responsibilities

Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit with compassion and clinical judgment
Assess patients regularly and implement evidence-based interventions to promote recovery
Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring for effects and changes
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate effective care plans
Document patient status and care activities clearly and promptly in the medical record
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and safe transitions home

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Louisiana) — required
Clinical experience or comfort working in medical-surgical settings (Med/Surg) — preferred
Current BLS (or willingness to obtain upon hire) and any facility-required certifications
Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Ability to provide compassionate care in a fast-paced hospital environment

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

Solid clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
Medication administration and documentation best practices
Familiarity with IV therapy, wound care, and basic post-op care
Comfortable collaborating with physicians, therapists, and care teams
Good time management, prioritization, and patient education abilities
