Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate comprehensive patient care across medical-surgical, outpatient, observation, and swing-bed services for primarily adult patients
• Provide skilled nursing assessments, develop and implement care plans, and use the Nursing Process to make critical clinical decisions
• Assess and manage occasional pediatric patients when they present, following appropriate protocols
• Lead and mentor team members during your shift in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Lead and Nursing Supervisor
• Collaborate closely with the Unit Director and interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless transitions of care
• Document care accurately in Meditech (preferred) and maintain compliance with unit and hospital policies
• Ensure patient-centered, holistic care that addresses physiological, psychosocial, developmental, and spiritual needs
• Complete credentialing requirements and maintain flu vaccination compliance as required by the facility

Qualifications

• Current Vermont RN license or multi-state RN license (required)
• BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS certification (required)
• Minimum 3 years of acute care experience (required)
• Meditech experience preferred
• Must be able to start on 2026-06-10 and upload credentials five business days prior to start
• Flu vaccination required with no exceptions
• Willingness to work night shifts and cover every other weekend

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical-surgical nursing and acute care expertise
• Proficient patient assessment and care coordination skills
• Experience with inpatient, outpatient, observation, and swing bed workflows
• Familiarity with pediatric care for occasional pediatric patients
• Clinical leadership and teamwork during night shifts
• Competence with Meditech or similar EHR systems
• Skilled in applying the Nursing Process for critical decision-making
• Commitment to infection prevention and immunization compliance
