Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care on a Med-Surg unit, ensuring safety and comfort for each patient
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Meditechs
• Coordinate with charge nurses, techs, and unit staff to maintain effective patient ratios and flow
• Support patient experience initiatives like keeping white boards updated and communicating care plans
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and routine Med-Surg procedures in a 33-bed unit
• Adapt to unit needs by participating in floating assignments when required

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) credential (active license required for practice)
• Basic Med-Surg knowledge is a must; prior Med-Surg experience strongly preferred
• BLS certification (noted in hospital specifics)
• Comfortable working with a 5:1 patient ratio and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
• Familiarity with Meditechs or similar electronic documentation systems is a plus
• Professional attitude, reliable attendance, and willingness to float when needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care skills focused on Med-Surg populations
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting practices
• Teamwork and clear communication with interdisciplinary staff
• Ability to follow unit policies and maintain required dress code standards
• Familiarity with unit workflows including admissions, discharges, and patient rounding
