Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients with complex needs
• Perform continuous patient assessment and intervene promptly to stabilize condition
• Manage ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, infusion pumps, and other ICU equipment
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and execute patient care plans
• Deliver clear, timely documentation in the electronic health record and communicate changes to the care team
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plans, and discharge needs with empathy and clarity
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Louisiana licensure required or compact RN eligible
• Recent ICU experience (prior critical care experience preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
• Comfortable with ventilator management, hemodynamic support, and titratable infusions
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills in high-acuity settings
• Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced critical care team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and respiratory care basics
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of invasive lines
• Management of vasoactive and titratable infusions
• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Experience with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Clear communication skills for multidisciplinary teamwork and family updates
