Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to Med/Surg patients
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status and progress in the medical record
• Administer medications and treatments safely and timely following orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Prioritize patient safety and escalate changes in condition promptly
• Support unit flow by admitting, transferring, and discharging patients efficiently

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Louisiana
• Minimum Med/Surg clinical experience preferred; comfort with 12-hour shifts required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and other specialty certs a plus
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient advocacy mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; follow facility credential requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing principles and common procedures
• Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation
• Medication administration and safe IV therapy practices
• Patient assessment, wound care, post-op care, and discharge planning
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments and adapt to change
