Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to diverse patient populations with urgency, compassion, and clinical excellence
• Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize patients based on acuity to ensure timely treatment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely while monitoring patient response
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care and disposition
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress clearly and accurately in the medical record
• Participate in emergency department performance improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care in an empathetic way

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligible for Hawaii licensure
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous emergency department or acute care nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills, ability to prioritize under pressure, and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and collaborate within a fast-paced team environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid patient assessment in a high-acuity setting
• Management of IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency interventions
• Trauma care fundamentals and stabilization techniques
• Accurate and timely clinical documentation and charting
• Effective teamwork, clear communication, and ability to function in multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with emergency protocols and patient safety best practices
