Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum
- Triage patients and manage Pitocin drips to support safe deliveries
- Serve as the baby catcher and transition nurse ensuring smooth newborn care
- Collaborate with the care team to support up to two births per day in a close-knit rural setting
- Float occasionally to med-surg when needed to support the broader hospital team
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Colorado or compact license
- BLS, ALS, NRP, and AWHONN EFM certifications required
- Minimum one year of Labor & Delivery experience with LDRP training
- Comfortable functioning independently as one of two nurses on shift
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong triage and fetal monitoring skills using OBIX system
- Experience with Pitocin titration and newborn transition
- Ability to work confidently in a rural hospital with 20-minute response times for providers
- Flexible and team-oriented approach to occasional floating needs
