Shift Type: Rotating 12.5-hour shifts (start/end times not specified), schedule varies, multiple slots available

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients
Monitor maternal and fetal status using fetal monitoring and bedside assessments
Assist with labor progression, deliveries, and immediate postpartum care
Collaborate closely with physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and neonatal teams to optimize outcomes
Educate and support patients and families through labor, delivery, and early postpartum
Document patient care accurately and communicate changes in condition promptly
Respond to obstetric and neonatal emergencies with calm, practiced interventions

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Louisiana) required
Current BLS certification required; NRP and ACLS highly valued
Previous experience in Labor & Delivery preferred
Comfortable interpreting fetal monitoring and providing intrapartum support
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Fetal heart rate monitoring and strip interpretation
Intrapartum and immediate postpartum nursing care
Newborn assessment and stabilization basics
Electronic medical record documentation and charting best practices
Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
