Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to laboring patients and their families
Monitor maternal and fetal status using appropriate assessment tools and escalate concerns promptly
Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure safe deliveries
Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and support pain management plans
Educate patients and families on labor progression, postpartum care, and newborn basics
Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record and participate in handoffs

Qualifications

Current RN license in Louisiana or eligibility for licensure (Compact RN license accepted if applicable)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and fetal heart monitoring certification preferred
Previous experience in Labor & Delivery preferred but new L&D RNs with strong skills are welcome
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in maternal and fetal assessment and electronic fetal monitoring
Skilled in perinatal emergency response and escalation
Excellent team communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
Safe medication administration and IV management
Patient and family education with an emphasis on evidence-based practice
