Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to laboring patients throughout labor and delivery
• Assess maternal and fetal well-being and intervene promptly to ensure safety
• Collaborate with OB providers, anesthesiology, neonatology and the care team for seamless patient care
• Educate and support families through the labor and delivery process, offering clear guidance and reassurance
• Document clinical findings, interventions and patient education accurately and timely
• Respond to obstetric emergencies calmly and effectively, following established protocols

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current BLS certification required; NRP and ACLS preferred or supported
• Clinical experience in Labor & Delivery or strong maternity unit background preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred but all qualified RNs are encouraged to apply

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of maternal and fetal monitoring and intrapartum care
• Skilled in labor support, pain management techniques and newborn transition care
• Familiarity with common obstetric procedures and emergency response
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and remain calm in high-acuity situations
• Compassionate patient education and family-centered care approach
