Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients, using sound clinical judgment to guide care
• Deliver advanced ICU interventions and titrate therapies in collaboration with the care team
• Lead bedside critical care tasks such as ventilator management, vasoactive drips, and complex monitoring
• Communicate clearly with physicians, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues to coordinate plans of care
• Document patient status and interventions accurately and promptly
• Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) credential; Alabama RN license preferred or ability to obtain
• Critical care experience in an ICU setting, caring for ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or required based on facility policy
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
• Team player with excellent communication and professional bedside manner

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in critical care monitoring and interpretation of hemodynamic data
• Familiarity with ventilator management and advanced airway care
• Medication administration experience with vasoactive and sedative agents
• Skilled in electronic health record documentation and care coordination
• Ability to respond effectively in emergency and code situations
