Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status and respond to changes quickly
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following policy and protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
• Lead bedside change-of-shift reporting and ensure clear handoffs
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families with clarity and empathy during stressful times
• Maintain a calm, professional presence and mentor less-experienced staff

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Louisiana licensure or compact/multi-state eligibility preferred
• ICU experience or strong critical care interest; unit orientation provided as needed
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced critical care setting
• Strong communication, assessment, and clinical decision-making skills
• Current basic immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care monitoring and advanced patient assessment
• Familiarity with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and infusion pumps
• Medication administration and titration for ICU therapies
• Electronic health record documentation and accurate charting
• Ability to prioritize and remain composed during urgent situations
• Team collaboration and clear bedside communication
