Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients
• Assess patient condition, interpret monitors, and respond to changes promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage advanced ICU equipment safely
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatment, and plan of care with empathy and clarity
• Document thoroughly and accurately to ensure continuity and safety of care
• Participate in unit initiatives that improve patient outcomes and workflow

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• ICU clinical experience; comfortable managing complex, critically ill patients
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and adapt to unit staffing needs

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and vasoactive drips
• Knowledge of critical care protocols, sepsis bundles, and organ support strategies
• Skillful assessment of rapidly changing patient conditions
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Calm, decisive problem solving under pressure with a patient-centered approach
