Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care to adults in the ICU
• Assess, monitor and document patient status and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications, titrate drips and manage advanced airway and ventilator care
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary team members on treatment plans
• Educate patients and families about care plans and progress with empathy and clarity
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact nursing license where applicable)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS required or obtained upon hire
• Clinical experience in an ICU setting (experience with ventilators, vasoactive drips, and critical care monitoring preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking and ability to prioritize in high-acuity environments
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-first mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of ICU standards of care, ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficient with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Skillful in medication administration, IV/drip management and titration
• Ability to perform under pressure and maintain calm, organized care during emergencies
• Committed to continuous learning and evidence-based practice
