Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care nursing to adult ICU patients
• Perform ongoing patient assessment, monitor hemodynamics, and respond to changes in condition
• Manage ventilators, titratable drips, and complex medication regimens per unit protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans
• Document care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives and advocate for patient safety

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact license where applicable)
• Recent ICU experience preferred; critical care background strongly desired
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented ICU environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of critical care principles and ICU protocols
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Familiarity with titratable drips and vasoactive medications
• Effective communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Accurate clinical documentation and time management
