Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered ICU nursing care using evidence-based practices
• Monitor and interpret complex hemodynamic data and act quickly to changes in condition
• Manage ventilators and advanced life-support equipment safely and effectively
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families during high-stress moments
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for Louisiana
• Experience or strong interest in critical care/ICU nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Comfort with ventilator management, vasoactive drips, and critical-care monitoring
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to pass facility required screenings and certifications

Education

• Active RN license required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and ventilator-associated care best practices
• Hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Infection control standards and ICU-specific safety protocols
• Critical thinking, rapid assessment, and effective team communication
• Compassionate patient/family education and support during acute illness
