Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered critical care for adult ICU patients
- Assess patient condition and respond promptly to changes in status
- Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage ventilators per protocol
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute care plans
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (ability to meet state licensure requirements)
- ICU experience—preferred candidates will have prior critical care exposure
- BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred or required depending on facility policy
- Demonstrated ability to manage ventilators, infusions, and advanced monitoring
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork mindset
- Willingness to complete facility orientation and unit-specific competencies
Education
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care assessment and monitoring
- Mechanical ventilation basics and ventilator management
- Medication administration and IV infusion management
- Electronic health record documentation
- Effective interdisciplinary communication
- Prioritization and time management in high-acuity settings
