Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, 3 shifts/week (includes some weekends) - day/evening coverage

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department, delivering compassionate, high-quality nursing
Rapidly and accurately triage patients based on physical and psychosocial needs to optimize patient flow
Communicate changes in patient status, symptoms, and diagnostic results with ER physicians and mid-level providers
Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response, initiating appropriate interventions
Coordinate care and give direction to ED techs, registration staff, and allied health team members
Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress using manual and electronic systems
Operate and troubleshoot basic and advanced medical equipment and perform IV procedures as required

Qualifications

Current MT State RN license required
Degree from an accredited nursing program required; BSN preferred
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience required
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) is preferred
Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills

Education

Degree from an accredited nursing program (required)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Emergency Department nursing principles and procedures
Triage and rapid patient assessment
IV insertion and medication administration skills
Ability to operate manual and electronic medical equipment
Basic office and computer skills for documentation and charting
Skilled in patient-centered communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
