Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care in the emergency department
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
- Stabilize and manage acute and emergency conditions with confidence
- Administer medications and treatments safely according to protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to create care plans
- Document patient care thoroughly and maintain accurate medical records
- Communicate clearly with patients and families to provide education and support
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
- Previous ED/ER nursing experience preferred
- Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage and emergency assessment skills
- Ability to manage trauma and acute care scenarios
- Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Calm, decisive clinical decision-making under pressure
