Shift Type: Rotating day shifts: 4x10 schedule, 06:30 AM - 05:00 PM; on-call requirement includes 2 nights per week plus 1 weekend every 2 weeks (7 call days per 2-week pay period). Day shift primary with on-call nights and rotating weekend coverage.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality peri-procedural nursing care for adult patients undergoing cardiac cath and electrophysiology procedures
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and hemodynamics, including Swan-Ganz/pulmonary artery monitoring
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation safely and effectively
• Scrub and circulate during complex procedures such as PCI, TAVR, Impella insertion, IABP placement, and device implantations or extractions
• Assist with central line insertions, start and maintain IV access, and manage procedural equipment
• Document all patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team
• Provide patient and family education pre- and post-procedure to support optimal outcomes
• Float to like units as needed to support patient care and unit staffing

Qualifications

• Active RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 1.5 years of cath lab experience is a hard stop; 2 years preferred (travel experience required)
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Certifications required: ACLS and BLS
• Proficiency with Meditech or equivalent electronic charting system
• Ability to work on-call nights and rotating weekends as described
• Orientation requirement: 40 hours; RTO documentation must be included at time of submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac catheterization procedures and interventional cardiac cath experience
• Electrophysiology (EP) lab procedures, mapping, and conduction studies
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Swan-Ganz/pulmonary artery line monitoring and hemodynamic assessment
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• IV therapy and central line assistance/management
• Familiarity with Impella, IABP, ventricular assist device procedures, and assorted implantable cardiac devices
• Scrub and circulate procedural skills for high-acuity cardiac cases
• Experience with PCI, TAVR, ablation, pacemaker and ICD procedures
• Strong interdisciplinary communication and patient education skills
