Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and equipment to ensure safe, efficient cardiovascular and EP procedures
• Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, communicating any abnormalities promptly
• Circulate during diagnostic and interventional procedures, assisting physicians and maintaining sterile technique
• Administer procedural sedation per unit policy and monitor patient response throughout
• Document pre- and post-procedure care, handoffs, and procedure details in MacLab/CardioLab in real time
• Participate in the Time Out/Full Stop safety process prior to each procedure
• Operate and assist with specialized equipment including fluoroscopy and intra-cardiac ultrasound
• Support structural heart, EP, endovascular, and interventional neurology cases with expert procedural nursing
• Mentor and precept new staff, contributing to continuous professional development and unit excellence
• Maintain a therapeutic, patient-centered environment with attention to comfort, privacy, and safety

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Experience in Cath Lab, or ICU/CVICU/IMC strongly preferred; new grads and med/surg-only nurses are not being considered
• Proven ability to circulate procedures and document in MacLab/CardioLab
• Comfort with variable shift lengths and on-call responsibilities
• Encouraged: specialty certification in cardiovascular/EP nursing

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required within 36 months of hire if not already obtained
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring for pre, intra, and post procedural care
• Fluoroscopy familiarity and adherence to radiation safety
• Experience with MacLab/CardioLab electronic documentation
• Ability to assist in structural heart procedures, ablations, device implants, EVAR, and neuro-interventional cases
• Sterile technique, procedure room preparation, and circulating responsibilities
• Sedation administration and monitoring
• Strong communication for handoffs, time outs, and multidisciplinary coordination
