Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality perioperative and postoperative nursing care for orthopedic and trauma surgery patients
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Collaborate with surgical teams to support procedures and ensure sterile technique and patient safety
• Implement evidence-based nursing interventions and contribute to care planning
• Educate patients and families on condition, postoperative expectations, and discharge planning
• Act as a reliable team member during high-acuity events, supporting efficient patient flow and outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with Nursys verification required
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in orthopedic/trauma surgical specialty in a similar-size setting
• Proven surgical nursing skills—strong ortho and trauma experience is a must
• Medical-Surgical (M/S) RN experience and comfort managing post-op surgical patients
• Clean work history/resume with no gaps greater than 60 days
• Completed skills checklist, up-to-date certification card(s), and references required
• Complete demographic/profile information including a badge-appropriate photo
• No RTO as stated in the posting

Knowledge & Skills

• Orthopedic and trauma surgical nursing techniques and perioperative care
• Wound assessment, dressing management, and post-op complication recognition
• IV therapy, pain management, and medication administration in surgical patients
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and rapid decision-making in acute situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and allied staff
• Accurate documentation and familiarity with licensure verification (Nursys)
