Roles & Responsibilities

Assess patients' mobility, strength, range of motion, and functional status to inform meaningful care plans
Deliver direct patient care using therapeutic procedures, modalities, and assistive devices to restore function and reduce pain
Implement therapeutic exercise programs focused on muscle strengthening, ROM, coordination, and mobility
Document patient progress and treatment accurately and timely in accordance with clinical standards
Work under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist to ensure safe, effective care and compliance with the State Practice Act
Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety techniques, and mobility strategies to support long-term outcomes

Qualifications

Graduated from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
Valid California license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA) required
Knowledge of and adherence to the California State Practice Act for PTAs
Comfort providing direct patient care and working under clinical supervision

Education

Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program

Knowledge & Skills

Physical therapy principles and therapeutic exercises
Patient assessment and clinical documentation
Therapeutic modalities and assistive devices
Muscle strengthening and range of motion (ROM) techniques
Patient mobility training and pain management
Clinical communication and teamwork
