Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Day shift; specific start/end times not provided (typical daytime hours). New Employee Orientation occurs Tuesdays and Wednesdays — schedule to be confirmed with employer.
Hours per Week: 32
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide full-time outpatient and inpatient occupational therapy services to patients across the lifespan
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practice
- Deliver ADL training and therapeutic exercise interventions, including use of modalities when appropriate
- Perform home visits and village travel as required to meet patient needs in rural settings
- Collaborate frequently with medical providers, peers, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Document patient care thoroughly and maintain professional medical correspondence and records
- Modify treatment plans based on patient-specific and age-specific considerations and changing clinical needs
- Demonstrate professional conduct, cultural respect, and effective communication with diverse populations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (required)
- Current NBCOT certification (required)
- Alaska OT license in good standing OR valid OT license from another state while awaiting Alaska licensure
- Current BLS certification (required)
- Comfort with home health visits and village travel (remote/rural practice experience preferred)
- Willingness to complete required immunizations, background checks, drug screen, fit testing and onboarding documentation prior to travel
- Strong documentation, assessment, and communication skills; cultural competency working with diverse populations
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Outpatient and inpatient occupational therapy interventions
- ADL training and functional activity analysis
- Assessment and treatment planning across diagnoses and ages
- Patient documentation and medical correspondence
- Therapeutic exercise and use of modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation)
- Home health and village-based care logistics
- Evidence-based practice and ability to interpret OT literature
- Cultural competency and effective cross-cultural communication
