Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI exams using GE HDXT 16.0 and 23.0 systems following departmental protocols
• Collaborate with MRI tech aides and fellow technologists to deliver safe, patient-centered imaging
• Prepare patients for MR procedures, provide clear instructions and ensure patient comfort and safety
• Document procedures and patient data accurately in Meditech Expanse
• Maintain equipment and perform routine QC checks to ensure diagnostic image quality
• Respond to call and urgent imaging needs as part of the on-call rotation
• Adhere to radiation safety, infection control and all hospital policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years current Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) experience (required)
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) — MR certification (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
• Demonstrated experience with GE HDXT platforms (16.0 and 23.0) (required)
• Meditech Expanse experience (highly preferred)
• Willingness to work weekends, evenings and participate in call as needed
• Traveler requirements: must have own vehicle and include permanent address in profile; facility will not consider candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
• Provide a supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment

Education

• ARRT (MR) Certification (required)
• Active BLS (AHA) Certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency operating GE HDXT MRI systems (16.0 and 23.0)
• Solid understanding of MRI safety, patient screening and contrast administration principles
• Ability to produce diagnostic-quality MR images and troubleshoot common artifacts
• Familiarity with electronic health records and workflow in Meditech Expanse
• Strong patient communication and positioning skills
• Teamwork and the ability to work with tech aides and other imaging staff
• Comfort functioning in a fast-paced hospital imaging department with varied caseloads
