Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of pediatric hospitalists, fostering a collaborative and supportive clinical environment
• Oversee newborn nursery care in partnership with Pediatrix neonatologists and NICU support
• Provide timely pediatric consultations to the Emergency Department, guiding diagnosis and treatment plans
• Participate in and champion Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives and clinical research
• Perform pediatric procedures as required, including circumcisions
• Coordinate care and communicate effectively with neonatology, ED teams, and hospital leadership
• Drive clinical best practices by exchanging ideas with a large network of Pediatrix providers

Qualifications

• Experience required — not open to new graduates (clinical and leadership experience expected)
• Proven experience in pediatric hospitalist medicine and newborn nursery care with NICU collaboration
• Demonstrated ability to provide pediatric consultations in an ED setting
• Comfort with 24/7 on-call responsibilities in a round-and-go model, including call-from-home
• Clinical leadership experience, including supervising or directing a small team of physicians
• Experience performing pediatric procedures such as circumcisions

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of Pediatrics and hospitalist medicine
• Experience with newborn nursery workflows and coordination with neonatology
• Skills in clinical leadership, quality improvement (CQI), and clinical research participation
• Excellent communication and teamwork for multidisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to provide timely ED consultations and make pragmatic clinical decisions
• Familiarity with hospital systems and processes for credentialing and compliance
