Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate CT equipment and perform CT exams to produce high-quality diagnostic images
• Prepare and administer contrast media and perform intravenous contrast injections safely and competently
• Perform general diagnostic radiographic exams and manage imaging procedures without direct supervision
• Prepare patient rooms, equipment, supplies, and medications to ensure smooth workflow
• Ensure quality assurance, radiation protection, and adherence to ARRT Standards of Ethics and departmental policies
• Communicate clearly with patients and clinical teams to provide compassionate, patient-centered care
• Contribute to continuous improvement and service excellence within the Radiology Department

Qualifications

• Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the Department of Health Services, State of California (CRT) required
• Approved CPR certification required
• ARRT certification and Radiologic Technologist fluoroscopy permit desired; fluoroscopy permit to be obtained within 6 months of hire
• Radiographic contrast media and venipuncture certification desired
• Preferred: two years diagnostic x-ray experience and one year CT experience
• Ability to follow radiation safety protocols and quality assurance procedures

Education

• Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) issued by the California Department of Health Services

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and CT imaging principles
• Patient care and positioning expertise
• Experience with contrast media administration and venipuncture
• Understanding of radiation physics, radiation protection, and radiobiology
• Proficient with X-ray and CT equipment operation and quality assurance
• Good communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
