Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality occupational therapy interventions and assist in implementing individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with OTs, nursing, and interdisciplinary team members to achieve patient-centered goals
• Perform functional assessments and document progress clearly and efficiently
• Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, assistive devices, and home safety
• Adapt therapeutic activities to meet each patient’s cognitive, physical, and psychosocial needs
• Support a positive, compassionate environment that promotes recovery and independence

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Current California COTA license or eligible to obtain California licensure
• Active CPR/BLS certification or willing to obtain upon hire
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with clinical charting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-focused approach
• Previous experience in acute, outpatient, or rehab settings preferred but open to motivated candidates

Education

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) or related field required
• Additional continuing education or certifications in specialty areas encouraged

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL/IADL training and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Knowledge of therapeutic activity design and activity grading
• Competent in patient assessment, treatment planning, and progress documentation
• Ability to instruct patients and caregivers in safe transfers and mobility
• Comfortable working within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
