Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff promptly
Support a safe and comfortable environment by following infection control and safety protocols
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to promote excellent care
Assist with meal setup and feeding when needed, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
Contribute to accurate documentation and timely charting to support continuity of care

Qualifications

Valid CNA certification in New York State (required)
Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
Comfortable with patient lifting and mobility assistance
Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional bedside manner
Ability to pass required background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
State-approved CNA training program completion

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic patient care procedures and infection control practices
Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
Familiarity with charting and electronic health records preferred
Ability to observe and report changes in patient condition
Team-oriented attitude and strong time management skills
